CO2 Laser Resurfacing

CO2 skin resurfacing is the treatment of choice for those who would like to achieve dramatic improvement in the appearance of their skin. This laser can treat numerous cosmetic and medical skin issues, from visible signs of aging and sun damage to scars and precancerous lesions.  The laser emits energy of a wavelength of 10,600 nanometers. Water within the skin cells absorbs this type of wavelength, resulting in the ablation of the superficial layer of the skin. This treatment produces a type of heat injury that stimulates the skin underneath, resulting in collagen formation; when the skin starts healing after laser treatment, new skin forms.

DEKA SmartXide DOT is a fractional CO2 laser system that works on an electronically pre-set network of points without removing the entire skin surface, as with other systems. Fractionated CO2 reduces the usual rejuvenation side effects such as pain, scabbing, and a lengthy recovery time. Skin redness following the treatment usually only lasts a few days, versus months as before, and can be masked with cosmetics. CO2 resurfacing can also help your skin regain its tone during the treatment.  Most people need about 2-3 treatments for fine lines and wrinkles and about 3-5 treatments for scars.

CO2 Laser treatment helps to:

  • Reduce wrinkles
  • Treat brown spots
  • Improve skin irregularities
  • Build collagen and improve skin laxity
  • Smooth acne scars/surgical scars
  • Lift sagging lids and bags
  • Reduce pore size
